LaCie unveiled one of the most flexible choices in network backup for small businesses and workgroups — LaCie Ethernet Disk RAID, powered by a 400MHz Intel 80219 processor. It's a complete Windows data backup solution with advanced recovery features such as network and remote booting, as well as automatic drive rebuilding when configured to RAID 5 + spare. LaCie Ethernet Disk RAID offers a 1TB or 2TB capacity with four hot-swappable drives, and includes two USB 2.0 ports for easily adding storage to the network.
LaCie Ethernet Disk RAID is best as a backup and recovery solution for Windows, but also supports file sharing on Linux and Mac OS. It offers UPnPTM support for automatic recognition on the network. LaCie Ethernet Disk RAID can also be used as an FTP server, so users can access and transfer data from outside the office on any machine with an Internet connection. It's equipped with two Gigabit LAN ports for setting up a DHCP server with auto-IP assignment, or a local Gigabit network.
